In Kürze, am 7. August starten die Tanzwettbewerbe der 10. GayGames in unserem Nachbarland. Die offiziellen Informationen darüber stehen auf der Website der GayGames 10 Paris, auf www.paris2018.com/sports/dancesport.
Aber es werden zusätzlich auch Informationen auf einer (inoffiziellen??) Facebook-Seite veröffentlicht. Es handelt sich dabei um die geschlossene Facebook-Gruppe „Gay Games 10. - Dancesport Community“ (https://www.facebook.com/groups/271275500039664/). Weil nicht alle, die es vielleicht interessieren könnte, bei Facebook angemeldet sind, stellen wir Euch hier auf der DVET-Seite ein paar Dokumente zur Verfügung die kürzlich dort gepostet wurden. Der DVET übernimmt keine Gewähr für die Richtigkeit und Aktualität der Dokumente. Following a number of schedule changes that needed to take place today we have attached a FINAL version of the schedule from the Paris Dancesport team. PLEASE CHECK IT CAREFULLY AS A FEW START TIMES HAVE CHANGED.
We are struggling to get the Paris2018 main comms team to update the website quick enough, please IGNORE text schedule on there as it is NOT correct. The afternoon session tomorrow (TUESDAY) starts at 2pm (not 3pm).
Please also IGNORE messaging from other organisations websites as they are not up to date.

WARM - UP SESSIONS:
AM - competitors will be allowed to enter the venue from 8am Tuesday - Friday with the ability to warm up on the floor until just before the competition starts (approx 9.10)
PM - There will be a lunch break between the AM and PM session, this will be an opportunity for afternoon competitors to warm up for the afternoon session. If the morning session over runs at all then we will still have the warm up session, so please do not worry!

ACCREDITATION: At the Cité de la mode et du design, 34 Quai d'Austerlitz, 75013 Paris (see photo of green building below) - to pick up your badge, Welcome Bag, Participation Medal, meet your sport and cultural event organisers, etc. More information about the Opening Ceremony and the week's events will also be available. OPENING CEREMONY: Saturday Afternoon, 4 August, Opening Ceremony, Stade Jean Bouin, 1 Allée Charles Brennus, 75016 Paris, arrive at 4PM to organise entrance into the stadium by Country. You will be told where to go, what to do, etc upon arrival. See Stadium Photo below.
SECURITY AT THE OPENING CEREMONY: For security reasons, no selfie sticks or flagpoles are allowed at the Opening Ceremony. All Flags must be hand-held (without flagpoles). The maximum size for flags is: 4 meters wide by 1.5 meters high - 13 by 5 Feet wide
No knapsacks or bags are allowed, other than the fabulous official Paris 2018 welcome bag that will be distributed at accreditation. The bag is about 10 by 16 inches. See photo.

IMPORTANT GALA BALL & MILONGA - TICKET UPDATE
There has been a small error in the messaging around tickets for these above events. It has now been clarified and I am happy to confirm that REGISTERED COMPETITORS do NOT need to purchase additional tickets to either the Milonga or the Gala Ball, entry is included in your registration. You must bring your accreditation badge with you.
Tickets only need to be purchased by spectators and additional guests.

Dear Dancers, Spectators & Lovely Supporters of Dancesport.
You can now purchase all of your tickets for the Gay Games events online at the Paris2018 website. These tickets are for:
- Spectating on Competition Days* - 15 Euros a day
- Tango Milonga Party - 10 Euros
- Gala Ball - 20 Euros
*Registered competitors do NOT need to purchase spectator tickets to come and support the competition on days you are not dancing. Access to the competition on all days is included in your accreditation. EVERYONE has complimentary access to the Showdance and Handidanse events on Friday 10th August and you do not need a ticket for this.
All tickets to the Tango Milonga and Gala Ball must be purchased by everyone and is not included in registration fees for either competitors or supporters. (s. update v. 18.07.2018)
Tickets for the competition Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are available individually - we do not have a three day pass available. These tickets are managed by the central Paris 2018 team so unfortunately we do not have the ability to sell them to you direct outside of their website.

Entry to the Competitive Edge workshop on Saturday 11th August is complimentary to all registered competitors - there are no tickets for this workshop but please show your interest on the event listed on the Dancesport Community Facebook page if possible. We will be kindly asking everyone to donate whatever they can afford to the ESSDA Outreach Fund on the day and we would value you support in raising money for this worthy cause.
